    • I just got home from the ER – my finger is numb and all taped up so I can barely type. I sliced the tip of my finger off this morning cutting up onions. Hahahaha!

    • Oh my goodness PJ!!! At least your laughing….or is that the drugs laughing? 😉 Wow did you have teary eyes and could not see? Ouch!!! Just thinking about it makes me cringe. Oh ya typing will be a real pain…literally! Did you get stitches?

    • I didn’t get drugs. They numbed my finger (that hurt). The doctor put on a butterfly bandage (go figure!) and when I got home it started bleeding badly again. I called the hospital and talked to the doctor and he said to put pressure on it. I thought the reason they stitch up these kind of wounds is to keep it from bleeding? Anyway, I think I should have gotten stitches.

    • Oh wow. Ya I bet that numbing did hurt. Keep it iced if you can and keep pressure on it, like a tight bandage, also keep it above your heart for a while if you can, like sit with you arm bent up towards your shoulder with your fingers pointing towards the ceiling. I hope the bleeding stops, don’t take any aspirin for the pain if the bleeding won’t stop. I wonder why they didn’t stitch it. 😦

    • Thanks for the info! I will! They “glued a bandaid” on it and said it should last 8 days. Ha!

    • How about 8 minutes!!! Bummer…I wished you a spiritual Sunday not a scalpel Sunday… 😉

    • Hahahaha! I told the nurses I was using my new Christmas knives and she said that seems to be the way everyone breaks their knives in by cutting themselves! LOL! The doctor said he just finished with a woman that cut herself cutting up Basil. haha! Knives keep the ER busy!

    • Boy oh boy, I guess so!!! That’s always such a fear of mine, even last night when I was cutting up the cantaloupe I was very careful not to cut myself. I’m a big baby when it comes to that. If they had to numb my finger I would most definitely pass out!! I do not get along with needles at all!!

    • I’m okay with needles that go into my arms or my bottom but not my fingers! LOL! It hurt!

    • Thought I had better let you know that when this numbing has faded out, it may be a day or so before I can type again because it will be too sore.

    • You are right about that. I have issues typing when I have band aids on my finger tips due to all my cracks..yours will be more difficult…I’ll say a prayer tonight that you have a speedy recovery… xoxo

    • Thank you so much! I have problems with my finger tips cracking too. I finally made myself wear gloves when I am handling any type of cleaning products plus I stopped drinking public water and started drinking only bottled water. They put Chloride in the water here and that caused my fingers to crack.

    • Ya I wear gloves now too when I clean or wash the dishes. I handle so much paper at work that I think the paper sucks the moisture out of my fingers. I drink bottled water all day long, I try to get in 8 glasses. Plus I use and adding machine all day too so my finger tips get quite the workout!! I remember you recommending I use superglue, I’ve been afraid to try it but I just might, I was afraid it would hurt going into the cracks. So I apply moisturizer again and again all day.

    • It stings a little when it goes into the cracks but not bad and keeps the air from getting to it which makes the cracks hurt so much. You’re right about paper taking the moisture out of your finger tips!
