  1. Beautiful quote Deb. Today, having just returned from an amazing overnight camping trip, I’m grateful for Mother Nature’s beauty.

  4. The True Light!

Despite the events of the Sunday massacre, and avoiding all of the terrorists and sexual preferences attached to it, I am glad I am not one who is inclined to that kind of violent behavior. God has not made me as such an angry person as to act out in the killing of others in uncontrolled rage…

    • People will wonder why He lets something like that happen. He is not controlling it, He will be there to help those through it. Are you an angry person?

No person knows why some things are allowed to happen. We must rust that there is some good reason in God’s plans as He is a God of goodness and love.

However, He is also a righteous God which means He will sometimes exact a judgment on something or someone at times. I can’t say that is what happened here, but it may be.

No, Deb, I’m pretty mild and not considered by anyone I know as an angry person. My wife says I look at the negative side of things at times, but that is not with any anger…

    • I believe we will find out the answer to “why” things happen after we die and go to heaven. No I don’t believe that’s what happened here. I’m glad that you are not an angry person, I am surprised that you look at the negative side of things though…although you said your wife says you do, do you think you do?

I agree with you in that we will better understand many of the “whys” in this life as we get to the next life. We may have the chance to ask God Himself and have the ability to understand His reasoning…

As far as I am concerned, I would say I am a pragmatic person with respect to many things, especially worldly events. If something is bad, it needs to be recognized as such. Most people see that as a negative, but I just say it is a realistic point of view.

Overall, I try to be upbeat about life in general. I don’t spend the day recounting bad things in every aspect of life. I take many things “in stride,” good and bad. And I am touched by the goodness of things and people many times…

      Does that make sense?

    • It does make sense. I have a dear friend who I would describe just as you have described yourself. Me on the other hand, believe in fairy tales and happy endings….I don’t watch the news because they only show bad stuff and I believe there is more good stuff than bad stuff happening in the world but you would never know it based on the news. I’ve often thought about starting a Good News channel and only have happy, uplifting stories on it. I believe there are many more good people than bad people in the world and that the news has made us all afraid and suspicious of each other! So that’s what I believe.. πŸ™‚

It’s a nice thing to imagine, Deb. Sadly, the news does seem to concentrate on reporting bad things, and despite what anyone may believe, there are a lot of bad things happening in the world. This is the way it has always been. There are good people everywhere, but sadly the scriptures even tell us there will be more bad people than good in the final days who will see a horrific end to their lives…

But our job is to keep ourselves from being stained by the sinful nature of the world and hold tight to the Lord’s ways and promises. Then we won’t be among those who will lose their very souls…

  5. I need to be brave enough to take any Leap of faith. I sit there, emotionally balled up afraid to move. What a great thing to be thankful for. I could use some tips. I am so paralyzed sometimes. But I am still trying. Great post, Deb!

    • You know what matters Gretch is that you are trying. We all have moments when we are afraid, all of us, and sometimes we take that leap while other times we’re too paralyzed and we don’t. You are not alone. Next time you are afraid, ask yourself what it is you are afraid of and see if you can overcome that fear. Remember God is in you, He will be there with you as you take that leap. Some days you will surprise yourself and leap, I know it!!! Thank you Gretch!! xo
