  4. Om Namo Narayanaya Namaha!
    That is very well said:
‘Plant a seed for the universe to tend
Set your vision upon the stars’
I am Grateful to New Moons as it brings and remembers us here that one month is over and the next month starts as per our Hindu calendar.
We actually do pooja on that day every month to silence the disorders and anything which has gone against nature. We decorate our vehicles and other precious things with Vibhuti, Kum Kum and Garlands for they give us so many things in return.
    We say the Mantra:
Om Shanti! Shanti!! Shanti hi !!!
    Shiva

    • Peace to body, speech and mind! How beautiful. You have many wonderful celebrations that we don’t in the west, it’s a shame. I really love how you appreciate the Universe and show that appreciation so often. I think I will do pooja on that day each month too, hopefully I’ll remember.
      Wishing you a peaceful day!

    • This is not only wonderful but amazing also.
If you want to do Pooja on the new moon day first do it to your computer and the vehicle you use. Pooja involves lot of things – Prayers, Incense, Flowers, Vibhuti, Kum Kum, Mantra Repetition, Reading of scriptures, Invoking of the deity so on and so forth.
There are various types of Pooja, let us not go into details of them. As they all give in return the things that you want from the world, I mean worldly pleasures.
Before you start the Pooja it is very important that you do the Sankalp ( The reason for which you are doing this act) or Conceptualisation for details:

    • Thanks Shiva, I shall read up on it and do my research before doing Pooja, as I see there is a lot involved and I want to be respectful.
