  1. So very grateful to catch up with a friend who has been out of touch for way, way, way, too long.

    • I, too, am grateful to be somewhat myself again. The journey was long, and I was certainly tested. I am glad to be of character again because for two years, I didn’t know who was staring at me in the mirror. Point is, this post speaks to me on a personal level.

    • Well, I am still getting there, but it’s better than curling up in a ball and feeling hopeless because you’re too ashamed to face any of your friends. Yeah, my friends were all mad at me because I picked someone to love. They were a very jealous and angry bunch. My family wasn’t being very supportive, either. I wanted to.say screw them all, but something in me couldn’t, hence my depression at the time. Even I felt like I was wrong, but the “right” option wasn’t available at the time. #depressionquest

    • It takes a lifetime to learn this for most of us but if you don’t want to wait that long…always do what makes you happy. You are not responsible for the happiness of anyone else, they are responsible for their own happiness. Always listen to your inner self and trust what you are feeling. When you are at odds with your self it’s because you are going against what you truly believe in. I would not call anyone who is jealous and angry with me a friend. A friend is someone who lets you be you and loves you for it. As you do the same for them. Family a little tougher because you love them and care about what they think, hard as it might be or sound it’s not important what they think, it’s important what you think and if they support you wonderful, if not well that’s their problem, as long as you are being true to you, you will not regret your decisions. I know it’s cliché but you really do have to love yourself first, that way you can truly love others. #happinessquest

    • Yes, that is what I have been told. But I have a problem putting myself first. I was belittled for it for most of my life, so through operative conditioning, I learned to put everyone else before me. Also, I learned that I was happy when others were happy.

    • Yeah it takes some untraining to put yourself first. There’s nothing wrong with being happy when others are happy, but there’s also nothing wrong with being happy when others aren’t!! xo

    • True. I have felt happy when others aren’t, but I don’t flaunt my happiness in that situation. I don’t want them to feel worse.

    • No need for flaunting, unbecoming. 🙂

I am thankful for the color red as it is my favorite color in the world.
I am grateful that my husband seems settled in his new house – maybe he won’t run away and will stay put. 🙂
I am grateful that we have the resources to keep houses in two countries and not feel the strain too much.
I am grateful for my children and the love we share.
I am grateful for the family that took care of my younger daughter while I went to Singapore.

  5. Some days I am grateful for myself and actually listen to my self…..other days….not so much. I am thinking this is due to the human factor?
