    • Here’s a great article about Halloween that you might enjoy
      http://www.history.com/topics/halloween/history-of-halloween
So in today’s America, every October 31, kids usually up to the age of 15, dress up in costumes, like super heroes, princesses, pirates, ghosts, anything you can image, and then go walking house to house with other friends, ring the doorbell and when the owner opens the door the kids say…Trick or Treat…and they are carrying paper bags, or something to hold candy, which is given to them by the homeowner. The kids will go to many houses from about 6:00pm til about 8:00pm. Then when they get home they go thru all the candy and eat over the next few weeks. It has become very commercialized from what it was originally about…a great way for businesses to sell candy and costumes and a great way for kids to get free candy…hehe! It’s a lot of fun, especially when you are younger to dress up in the costumes…I always liked being a princess or fairy! I hope you enjoyed your dinner with your family, what did you have? πŸ™‚

    • I’ve just read about Manhattan incident. It is tragic and highly condemnable.
Deb, thank you for sharing article. I guess it’s more about parties to celebrate family get togethers. I read about this trick or treat tradition.
How do you celebrate it? Any thing special you planned for October 31?
Oh.. it’s lovely Deb that you liked to be princess or fairy. They are always adorable πŸ™‚
As for dinner, it was the dish of chicken rice known as Paloo in my language πŸ™‚

    • I don’t watch the news as they only report on the negative in the world and I believe there is far more positive than negative. I did just look up the Manhattan incident, you are right that is condemnable!
Yes Halloween is more of a fun holiday than anything else. I don’t dress in costumes anymore, however I did wear orange which is a color of Halloween because of pumpkins, which are a huge Halloween symbol, and I wore some earrings that looked like candy corns, which is a popular candy treat. I had a meeting last night that I had to go to so I did not do anything special. I did watch ghost stories on tv when I got home.
Ohhh your dinner sounds delicious!! I bet it was. β˜ΊπŸ’–

    • Oh Deb, I can’t agree more with you. True, there’s lot of happiness in the world and you do good by not watching news on TV.

That’s lovely description of Halloween. Hmm.. I knew that pumpkin is associated with Halloween but didn’t know that orange is color of this day. I can imagine you were looking good in your earings πŸ™‚
Thank you Deb, dinner was delecious πŸ™‚
Stay good Deb.. much love πŸ™‚

    • Yes we actually buy pumpkins, carve out the inside, then carve out eyes, nose and mouth, insert a candle and they glow. Some carve out scary faces, while others carve out funny faces. They are called jack-0-lanterns. Very cool to see. The inside of the pumpkin can be used to make pumpkin pie. Thank you Madeeha, my earrings were fun to see and wear. I was pretty sure your dinner was delicious, it sure sounded like it was! You stay good too….much love xo πŸ™‚

  2. Halloween isn’t really observed in Australia, but I’m grateful years gone by when I celebrated it in the USA.

    • It was fun as a kid, and fun for a while as an adult seeing all the kids, but the street I live on is a private one and the kids think they can’t come down here so we don’t get many if any trick or treaters, which honestly is fine with me after all these years. πŸ™‚

    • Yeah I liked the pic ooohhh! Oh no I hope as today progressed you felt more and more like yourself. I wonder what caused that…something you ate maybe? Sounds like you got a trick for Halloween instead of a treat!! Happy Halloween PJ! My day was filled with scary fun, heaped with joy!! I hope yours was filled with better health!! • I’m happy to hear you had a scary fun day filled with joy! I started feeling better by late morning but I still stayed in and didn’t go have lunch with my friends. I think it was caused by something I ate. I had a chili cheese dog last night and I think that did it! It has been a quiet day. I hope I sleep good tonight because I sure didn’t last night! Have a wonderful evening!
