    • Thank you Gayatri I appreciate your kind words. Just popped over and read your Walking in the Woods story…I liked it…it made me stop and think, that’s a great trait for a writer. When I have more time I’ll read some more of your stories. Enjoy your writing and keep the posts coming! Have a wonderful rest of your week.

  3. Iโ€™ve stopped wearing foundation Deb (mostly) but I am grateful for Lipstick! Glossy pearl pink lip smacking gloss that made me feel better on a day when I was feeling out of alignment and out of sorts. Isnโ€™t it often the little things that pick us up the most? Big lip balmy hugs xo

    • I never wore makeup except mascara until I hit menopause…then I started wearing everything! Now I’m starting to back off some…lipstick is one thing I don’t wear, I’ve tried it but I have to keep applying it and forget to so I just don’t bother with it. Big foundation hugs xo hehe

    • Ooh, I love lipstick! I love wearing mascara and eye liner too but Iโ€™ve backed off from that a bit, cos when I tear up and cry (which is a lot these days) I look like Mortia from The Addams Family! Big hugs xo ๐Ÿ˜

    • I tried eyeliner but I wasn’t very good at it and of course you know how we have to have things perfect…so I’d keep fixing it and it became too time consuming so I said forget it! I know what you mean about the crying part and a lot these days, me too. LOL!! Big hugs. xo

  4. I have not been able to wear foundation. It makes me break out. In fact, anything I put on my face makes me breakout. My dermatologist wanted me to start wearing sunscreen and I tried but it made me break out. Good morning Deb! I hope your day scrumdillyicious! ((HUGS!!)) XOXOXO

  5. Have to admit that ‘Blush’ was certainly my friend this Christmas. Along with some sparkly eye shadow. Enjoying the leftovers here. Grateful for the microwave! All my best to you.

  6. I have never figured out how to work with foundation. I probably should learn but have just stuck with lotion, Frankincense essential oil, and the eye stuff (mascara, eyeshadow). I think I might be kind of low maintenance and I am grateful for that….(or should I say my husband is grateful for that.)

    • A lot of changes happened to me when I started menopause and one of them was to wear makeup. I only wore masacara before that…but suddenly I was inclined to wear foundation, eye shadow, blush, etc…I really like this one because it’s very light in texture…it covers well but you don’t feel like you have anything on and you don’t see it at all…guess I became high maintenance…although I am starting to back-off from wearing some. But I’ve gotten used to seeing it on my face and now feel my face looks better with it than without it. It definitely saves time when getting ready, the less you wear…

    • I have been thinking of trying it. Young Living now has an all natural mineral based makeup line….if I figure out how to apply I might have to give it a go.

    • This once is made from the Black Sea…and had lots of nutrients in it. I just dip the tip of my first three fingers of each hand in the jar…then I take my ring fingers and start under my eyes, like applying eye cream…then I take my middle fingers and do my nose and cheeks, finally my first (index) fingers and do my chin and forehead. Also I close my eyes and do my lids. I then blend it all in with my fingers and take the brush and blend again…it only takes about 3 minutes. If you go on YouTube and search for videos on how to apply foundation there should be lots of them just to give you an idea and then practice and see what works best for you. I always try learning things when I have some free time that way if I don’t like it I can just wash my face. Give it a whirl…it’s fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Happy almost New Year, Deb. Your photo perked me up so much. Edward Bess is a favourite cosmetic brand of mine. You have great taste and that mousse foundation looks dreamy. I love foundation brushes and other makeup brushes, too. That would explain why I have so many brushes. I’m not exaggerating here – I use four different brushes just for eye shadow and liner. I am a firm believer in the power of mascara. Usually because my lashes block my vision if I don’t have three coats on. I’m with you on lipstick, I like to sip a cup of tea at my desk and while I am a Diorific/Lancome fan, I had to stop: Tea or lipstick? Tea won. I also have extremely sensitive skin along with multiple chemical sensitivity, so I can only wear organic, plant based foundations (think 100% Pure Healthy Skin) to protect my skin from sun damage. I recently found a sunscreen that doesn’t destroy my skin or break me out, even in the harsh winter weather. It’s got aloe vera and zinc oxide with cinammon extract so no white cast. Priceless Joy might be interested. xoxoxoxoxo

    • Hey Happy New Year SB!!! Oh that makes me so happy that my photo perked you up!! Yes I love Edward Bess foundation…the mousse is perfect. I’m with you on the brushes for the eyeshadow, I use 3 sometimes 4 if I use the shadow for liner. I don’t do regular eyeliner I never mastered it so I gave it up. I have a carousel that is filled with brushes, shadows, cream shadows, blushes, highlighters, lipsticks that I don’t use, eyebrow pencils, etc…it’s a makeup lovers dream! And all this started because of menopause…ha! Only wore mascara before it. I started watching QVC and that’s where I started buying all my makeup and learned how to apply it…watching Mally, Laura Geller, Edward Bess, and many others. I had to have it all…lol! I will tell PJ about your sunscreen…she may very well be interested. So happy you stopped by for a chat. I’ve popped over now and again but you’re still pretty much on hiatus it seems. Well I hope you had a wonderful holiday and wishing you a very Healthy Happy 2018!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

    • Eyeliner is the one thing I’m good at. In theory, I’m trying to cut down on products (in practice it’s not happening). You’re a natural beauty and I wish you the very best for the New Year. xoxo

    • This is the product. I found the company this year when researching organic skincare for sensitive skin. They’re lovely people and communicate directly with customers. Best wishes.

  9. I think the world in general needs to thank the maker’s of foundation – because it has such a helpful function
    ha
and my fav foundation is that “BB” cream – it is too light for many people- but just right for moi – and I am grateful for that
    have a nice day

  10. and side note – did you hear about the mom who had her l6 year old daughter’s eye shadow tested? I guess it was from Claire’s and the mom sent it to a lab in NC and it came back to have dangerous levels of asbestos and 11 other makeup items from Claire’s had asbestos too
