  1. Shhhh Meditation could help do that.
Quieting the mind needs another instrument one of them is that.
    I am Grateful to Meditation.

  2. Yes, itโ€™s wonderful and necessary to quieten the mind. I love my meditations BUT I have to say that today my mind was thoroughly entertained at Aladdin. Music, dance, song, colour, magic .. escapism, sometimes thatโ€™s another way of quieting the mind. Hugs xo ๐Ÿ’–

  3. My mind is doing handsprings, but I’ll go to bed soon and it will calm down. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. The mind is always going strong and the best way to quieten the mind is to think of peaceful scenes. Think of things that are calming and relaxing. We all need to quieten our minds at times. Good morning Deb! I hope you have a magical day today! ((HUGS!!))) xoxoxo

    • Oh what great advice PJ!! Ahhh yes…like the ebb and flow of the ocean or the birds tweeting in the woods…we really do need to shut our minds down…it’s so good for us. Good evening PJ!! My day was magical, thank you. I hope your day was relaxing! ((HUGS!!)) xoxo ๐Ÿ™‚

    • My day was busy! My brother and his wife came and we went to visit our mother’s grave and we also went to visit our sister. He brought some things of our mother’s down.

  6. I’m grateful to have a mind even if it doesn’t function the way I think it should ๐Ÿ˜‰ However I have moments I wish I had an on/off switch. Tried meditating numerous times and can’t seem to get the hang of it. Have a nice weekend Deb!

    • I think we try to hard when we meditate…meditate comes with its own stigma…basically just sit for 15 minutes a day, morning or night and try to stop thinking. Some people try to stop thinking by focusing on their breathing…or focus on a sound, or just breathe normal and as you breathe in think in and as you breathe out think out…and your mind will definitely wander so when you catch it just start again with in…out….and it’s not long deep breaths, just like the first two or three to get you settled in then it’s just normal breathing…play some quiet relaxing music and close your eyes while you listen to it for 10-15 minutes…that’s probably the easiest and most enjoyable. It’s just good for the body to stop, besides sleeping. Thanks Steph…wishing you a wonderful weekend too!! Or maybe my long response has lulled you into a nice meditative state and now you’re all set…lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Oh Deb, this sounds so relaxing and reading it makes me think I can do it. My problem is I’m always thinking ahead to what I should be doing next that it’s difficult to enjoy a truly cleansing, quiet moment. I’m going to keep trying though because I’m no quitter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • We all are always thinking ahead whilte trying not to…that’s why it’s best to have a sound to distract…try the music…I think you’ll enjoy that. And the key is, your mind will wander, so accept that right now, that’s the biggest hurdle to get over, accepting that your mind will wander…but when it does and you catch it, hooray…and start again…oh and you’ll catch it about 100 times during the 15 minutes…but you’ll get better and better at it. You certainly are no quitter…that’s why I know you can do it and will eventually love it!! xo ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Iโ€™ve been doing that this morning. So much going wrong. Just stopped and let mind and body settle and synchronize.

    • Excellent…rather than struggling to make it right…let go, chill and let your body and mind make it right on their own!! Hope you were successful George! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I’m grateful for celebrating 38 years married to my husband the Mathematician! Considering I’ve now been married for twice a long as I was single that’s worth being grateful for! I’ve stopped and taken the time to reflect on all those many, many years together and still came out smiling ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the images Deb.

  11. There are times that I do like snow. Tonite I stood outside watching the snow fall. It filtered off the roof of the barn and it was so quiet….a perfect time to quiet the mind. So tonite I was grateful for the snow.
